RxMD strives, always, to be consistent and aligned with its key values. One of these is to ensure that RxMD’s activities, whenever possible, contribute to societal betterment. Over the years, RxMD has supported initiatives directed at making the world a better place and brightening the lives of the less fortunate.
RxMD is proud to have contributed towards the efforts of organizations who, in their own modest way, have been making a difference:
Every year hundreds of thousands of children are born with severe congenital heart defects (CHD) in India. Tragically, the parents of most of these children cannot afford the required life-saving surgery. It is here that Aishwarya Trust steps in by providing children with heart defects access to affordable, world-class treatment and care.
The Trust’s comprehensive program includes screening, diagnosis, treatment and review. To date it has helped screen more than 1.5 lakh children and supported more than 3,500 successful surgeries.
Begun as a modest program for poor children of Tamil Nadu a little more than a decade ago, Aishwarya Trust’s efforts have since come to encompass the entire country and other parts of the world.
Aram Valartha Naayagi Sevai Maiyam (AVSM), a socio-cultural organization, seeks to foster a sense of belonging and rootedness among the poorer sections of society by reviving and promoting participation in traditional cultural customs, practices and festivals. By doing so, it strives to promote a way of life among individuals that is “in harmony with the environment, with other humans and with other creatures”. To protect this way of life is its primary objective.
Its programs, in general, encompass women empowerment, providing educational support, spreading awareness of traditional Indian practices to improve one’s health, both physical and mental, and the importance of preserving the environment.
RxMD has consistently supported AVSM in its efforts to promote and propagate traditional practices and ancient texts, which have been a treasure trove of wisdom and profound spiritual insights over several millennia to the people of India – providing not just an anchor against life’s many challenges but, in addition, guidance on how to become a better human being.
Schizophrenia Research Foundation (SCARF India)

Additionally, SCARF works on psychosocial rehabilitation, especially, employment support and increasing social awareness about mental illness, disability, treatment and other welfare measures. Part of SCARF’s mission is to initiate, conduct and support research programs on the biological, social and psychological aspects of schizophrenia and mental illness to further knowledge of treatments and methods of caregiving.
Set up a little over 2 decades ago as a socio-cultural organization, Sevabharathi Tamilnadu seeks to transform the lives of the underprivileged, and empower every individual whose life it touches.
Among its more notable projects:
Mobile Medical Vans: The vans staffed with doctors, nurses, and pharmacists visit poorer parts of Chennai providing medical services free of cost. The vans treat around 200 people every day.
Evening Study Centers: Geared towards helping children from underprivileged families perform better in school.
Relief and Rehabilitation: During the Covid-19 pandemic, Sevabharathi arranged for distribution of food and grocery kits across different districts of Tamilnadu to the impoverished and those without a steady source of income.
The Vasantha Memorial Trust was set up in 1993 in Trichy with the objective of providing assistance to cancer patients.
The Trust operates, with its primary nodes in Chennai and Mumbai, in several parts of the country. It focuses on three areas: Treatment, Awareness and Detection. Over the years, it has, through its tailor-made programs, reached millions in the country in varied age, educational, social, and economic groups. Two of its flagship programs are the Breast Cancer Awareness and Cancer Free Tomorrow campaign in schools. Both of these have been received well and have been hugely successful in raising awareness of the disease. Apart from sponsoring treatment for over 2000 patients, the Trust has established a charitable hospital in Chennai that provides high quality treatment virtually free.
Vasantharatna Foundation for Arts (VRFA) was set up in 2007 by Subhashini Vasanth in memory of her husband, Col. Vasanth Venugopal, recipient of the Ashoka Chakra (posthumously). As the widow of an army officer, she realized the need for a larger support system to assist families left behind by soldiers killed in the line of duty. To that end, the foundation was set up with the primary objective of building a more secure and sustainable future for the families.
VRFA’s programs involve providing counselling and legal support, education and training opportunities, and assistance in securing aid from the government and armed forces. Since 2007, the foundation has added to its growing community and today supports over 120 wives and children.

Viswajayam Foundation is a charitable trust whose primary social welfare activity is providing housekeeping services to state and central government hospitals to ensure cleanliness and hygiene in the premises.
Viswajayam has recognized that below standard levels of hygiene and cleanliness in hospitals can seriously impair patient recovery, particularly those whose immune system is already compromised with serious illness. Viswajayam’s mission is to eliminate hospital acquired infection in patients that can aggravate their condition.
Viswajayam has also been involved in other charitable activities like relief work during natural disasters, providing financial assistance to patients, and setting up drinking water facilities at a government hospital for the use of patients and visitors.
